SIGNAL LOST

Five-book literary cosmic-horror thriller. February 2019 to October 2024 plus a 2028 epilogue. A 32-year-old machine learning engineer named Maya Voss finds a hidden mathematical pattern in a production AI model. It's the first stage of a 300-year-old operation by a secret society to dim the human species' capacity for collective will. The bad guys think they're doing mercy. They aren't. Maya was prepared from infancy by her mother to be the one person who can close the door before it goes permanent.

FRACTURED EPOCH

Twelve-book multiverse saga, plus a novella. About 1.4 million words. A cosmic guardian named Veyrion broke reality a hundred and fifty years ago when he rewrote a six-year-old girl's timeline to save her. The Fracture has been bleeding through six worlds since. A grieving intelligence called the Codex chooses seven broken champions, one per genre-wound, to repair what got broken. Saga I is the discovery that the way to defeat Veyrion isn't to punish him. It's to remind him who he was before he fell.

Each world wears a different genre. Aerros is epic political fantasy. Antivale is cyberpunk. Virelai-9 is steampunk. Nexus Kythara is space opera. Empyrean Cities is urban fantasy noir. Thornwick is gothic horror. Lythariel is perpetual twilight, the one the Codex couldn't reach in time. The genre changes per book. The voice and atmosphere stay constant.

Tone references: Le Guin and Ishiguro at the sentence level. Cinema and concept art: Dune Part Two, The Green Knight, Annihilation, Dark Souls / Elden Ring.

• Cinematic. Photoreal-painterly hybrid. Not pure photo. Not pure illustration. The ground tone is cinema. Tommy Arnold, Greg Manchess, Greig Fraser for FRACTURED EPOCH. The quieter prestige-thriller cinematographers for SIGNAL LOST.
• Side-lit. Shallow depth. Camera close. Faces and hands rendered with the camera in your subject's personal space. Background falls off into atmosphere instead of detail.
• Bleak wonder, slow violence, cosmic dread. Atmosphere does the work, not action. Muted saturation, a bit of grain, quiet weight.
• And specifics over summaries, always. Lyralei's doll is missing one button eye, not “old and worn.” Maya's laptop is the actual laptop she'd own.

SIGNAL LOST

• Book 1 cover. Maya at her laptop in low light. Half her face visible. The pattern from the screen reflected in her irises. Reads like a literary thriller cover, not a horror cover. Title is SIGNAL LOST.
• Books 2 through 5 covers.Same ground register. Each one carries one specific image from its book. Book 2 is an empty office hallway. Book 3 is rain on a Bay Area window. Book 4 is an Amsterdam canal at dusk. Book 5 is the inside of a room that isn't actually a room.
• Character portraits. Maya, Declan, Okafor, Cassandra, Marcus, Petra, Iris, Nora. Headshots, close framing, side-lit. No costumes. Real clothes real people wear. Not posed.

FRACTURED EPOCH

• Book 1 cover (THE SHATTERED CROWN). The two-piece crown. Aerros register, but Ishiguro doing political fantasy, not heroic-fantasy. Quiet. Broken. Lit like a film still, not a poster.
• Books 2 through 12 covers. The genre on the costume changes per book. Cyberpunk, steampunk, space opera, urban fantasy noir, gothic horror, then Saga II from there. What stays constant across all twelve covers is the bleak wonder, the slow violence, the cosmic dread.
• The seven Sworn portraits. Kaelith Sunward (reluctant prince). Velra (Antivale hacker). Brun Ironwright (Virelai-9 inventor). Nyra Brightblade (failed paladin). Cassian Voll (sight-as-curse). Zero (cosmic guardian who failed to speak). Lyra Farseer (perpetual twilight, Echo Arrows). Each portrait should show the contradiction, not the power.
• Veyrion and Lyralei. The cosmic spine. A guardian who broke creation out of love and the six-year-old girl who died twice. The hardest pair in the saga to get right. No melodrama. Quiet weight only.

• Three rough sketches first. Low fidelity. Composition, mood, where the light is coming from. No final detail yet.
• One color study so we can lock the palette and atmosphere before any figure work. The light is a character in both projects, it has to feel right first.
• One revision pass after I respond to the sketches.
• Final at 2400px wide minimum, PNG or JPG. Print-ready TIFF if it's going on a physical book cover.

If you're seriously thinking about a piece, read one chapter of SIGNAL LOST. Any chapter. The voice is consistent and a single chapter tells you the tone better than any brief I could write.
