You say what's going on and have it actually heard, get a few plain guides when you don't know where to start, and get pointed to a real person when a quick chat isn't enough.
The quick part is an AI, and it says so. It's the bridge, not the point. When it's heavier than a chat should hold, it puts the 988 line in front of you, where a trained person answers. The goal is always that you end up with a human, not a screen.
